PASSOVER:

Learn why Passover is a picture of Jesus’ death painted by Moses, 1500 years before it happened.

The Hebrews celebrated the feast of Passover on the 14th day of the month of Nissan.

Passover reminds Israel of the night God delivered them from judgment; and the dreadfulness caused by the tenth plague in Egypt.  The tenth plague spread throughout the land of Egypt, and the first born of every Egyptian died. Miraculously, all of Israel escaped the horrible pestilence. Moses gave this instruction to the Hebrews,

God will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down (Ex 12:23).

JESUS DIED ON PASSOVER:

Moses predicting the day Christ will die to deliver man from the pestilence of sin; foretells Jesus death. Jesus death saves the people of God from the penalty of sin, which is spiritual and eternal death. To fulfill Moses’ prediction, Christ was sacrifed on the Feast of Passover.

“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” Jn.18:39

Jesus said, passover is two days away as you know. And the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified (Matt 26:2).

These events took place just as Moses predicted. … according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness (of sin). Heb 9:22 (NLT)

Paul Calls Jesus Our Passover Lamb:

Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast–as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 1 Cor 5:7 (NIV)

Moses predicts Christ would die on Passover Nisan 14th, the Passover lamb was a type of Christ. Lev 23:5

This is what John the Baptist had to say about Jesus:

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 (NKJV)

The law and the feast of the Lord are all about Christ.

Christ is crucified on Passover. Jesus is buried on the feast of Unleavened Bread, and he is raised from the dead on the feast of First Fruits.
